STRUCTURAL CAD DRAFTING
Structural drafting for framing and project details
Turn engineering designs, marked-up plans and project information into clear structural drawings. AU Design US prepares framing plans, structural details and drawing revisions for residential and commercial projects, working from the technical information supplied by your project team.
Wood framing and details
Document floor and roof framing layouts, connections and related construction details. We prepare new drawings and update existing sheets to reflect your project team’s supplied designs and markups.
Project example:
Wood-framing plans and structural details.
Commercial structural drawings
Prepare structural plans and detail sheets for commercial projects, including foundation and framing documentation within the agreed scope. Drawings are developed from supplied technical designs, dimensions and review comments.
Project example:
Commercial structural plans and details for a gas station.
MECHANICAL CAD DRAFTING
Mechanical drafting for systems, equipment and parts
AU Design US prepares mechanical drawings for building systems, equipment and individual components. We turn supplied layouts, specifications, dimensions and markups into documentation that supports project coordination, installation or fabrication within the agreed scope.
Building mechanical documentation
Prepare mechanical plans, equipment layouts and boiler-room documentation from supplied project and engineering information. Drawings help communicate equipment locations, system arrangements and relationships within the building.
MEP-related drawing work can also be included, with the required disciplines, source information and review responsibilities established for the project.
Project examples:
Doctor’s-office mechanical plan and boiler/equipment-room documentation.
Mechanical shop and equipment drawings
Show how equipment, assemblies and system routes relate to one another through mechanical shop drawings and detail views. Documentation can illustrate equipment arrangements, routing and installation relationships based on supplied designs and project requirements.
The drawing scope and level of detail are agreed with your contractor, fabricator, equipment supplier or engineering team.
Project examples:
Mechanical equipment arrangements and system-routing perspectives.
Machine and part drawings
Turn component designs, dimensions and specifications into clear part drawings. Views, dimensions and detail notes communicate the supplied requirements for review, fabrication or manufacturing documentation.
We can prepare new drawings or revise existing component documentation, with the required views, details and file formats established before work begins.
Project example:
Dimensioned rod-end eye-bolt drawing with component views and specifications.
PROJECT WORKFLOW
From technical information to completed drawings
Start with the information you already have: existing CAD files, PDFs, sketches, engineer markups, dimensions or equipment specifications. We review the available material with you and establish what is needed to prepare drawings for your project.
01
Review source information
We examine your drawings, markups and technical references, confirm how the completed drawings will be used, and identify missing dimensions or other information needed to proceed.
02
Determine scope and responsibilities
We establish the required sheets and details, delivery formats and schedule. We also confirm who will supply design information, answer technical questions and review the drawings.
03
Prepare drawings and revisions
We develop the drawings from the supplied information and incorporate agreed feedback from your project team. Required engineering review is handled by your separately retained engineer.
04
Deliver the agreed-upon files
You receive the completed drawing sheets, details and digital files in the agreed formats, ready for the next stage of your project team’s review, coordination or documentation process.
Need to document an existing building first? Our As-Built Drawings and 3D Laser Scanning services can help establish the existing-condition information needed for your drafting project.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions about structural and mechanical drafting
Answers to common questions about our drafting services, working with your team and requesting a quote.
What types of structural drawings can you prepare?
We prepare wood-framing plans, commercial structural drawings, foundation and framing details, and revisions to existing structural drawing sets. The specific sheets and details are established for each project and developed from the engineering designs and technical information supplied by your project team.
Does mechanical drafting include equipment and machine parts?
Yes. Our mechanical drafting includes building mechanical documentation, mechanical shop and equipment drawings, and machine or part drawings. Depending on the project, this can include equipment arrangements, system-routing views, component dimensions and detail notes developed from your supplied designs, specifications and reference information.
Do you provide structural or mechanical engineering?
AU Design US provides drafting and drawing-production support. Engineering design, calculations and any required certification are provided by an independent engineering firm.
We can help connect you with an engineering firm, and you contract with that firm directly. We prepare the drawings using the technical information supplied by the responsible project professionals.
Can you work from my engineer’s drawings and markups?
Yes. We can prepare and revise drawings from engineer markups, sketches, existing CAD files, PDFs and other technical references. Your engineer provides the design direction and technical requirements, and we incorporate that information into the drawing set.
We identify questions or missing information with your team before proceeding with the affected drawing work.
Do you prepare MEP-related drawings?
Yes. MEP refers to mechanical, electrical and plumbing. We can provide MEP-related drafting support, with the specific disciplines, drawing sheets and source information confirmed for each project.
Engineering design and any required calculations or certification are provided separately by the responsible engineering professionals.
Can you prepare mechanical shop drawings?
Yes. We prepare mechanical shop drawings and equipment documentation that show equipment arrangements, system routing and installation relationships based on supplied designs and project information.
The required views, dimensions and level of detail are established with your contractor, fabricator, equipment supplier or engineering team before drafting begins.
Can you update existing drawings or support recurring work?
Yes. We can revise existing drawings to reflect approved design changes, updated dimensions, equipment changes or project-team markups.
We also support recurring drafting assignments, including repeat projects and ongoing drawing updates. Scope, scheduling and review arrangements are confirmed for each assignment.
What information should I send for a quote?
Use the quote form to send a brief project description, available drawings or markups, the deliverables you need and your requested schedule. Include the project location and any relevant equipment or component information.
If you do not have a complete package, start with a description of what you need. We will review the available information and identify what else is required to define the drafting scope.
