CAD DRAFTING & DOCUMENTATION
Turn project information into usable drawings
Your project may start with existing CAD files, marked-up PDFs, sketches or information from your design team. AU Design US reviews what is available and helps define the drafting work needed to move the project forward.
We support architects, interior designers, contractors and property owners with drawing production, revisions and CAD redrafting for residential and commercial projects.
SOURCE FILES & DELIVERABLES
From your source files to the drawings you need
Share what you already have and tell us how the finished drawings will be used. We’ll review the available information and agree on the drawing scope and delivery requirements.
Redrafting supplied plans does not verify current site conditions. If updated field information is needed, explore our As-Built Drawings and 3D Laser Scanning services.

Review source information
Share your sketches, markups, existing drawings and project files. Tell us how the finished drawings will be used and identify any project deadlines.
02
Define the drafting scope
Confirm the drawings required, available reference information, file formats and review stages. Agree on responsibilities and a schedule suited to the scope.
03
Prepare and review drawings
Develop the drawings from your supplied designs and agreed instructions. Share the work for review, with feedback collected into clear, coordinated markups.
04
Finalize and deliver files
Incorporate the agreed revisions and prepare the completed files. Deliver PDF drawing sets and editable CAD or Revit files as included in the project scope.

Projects suited to remote drafting
Some projects can move forward using supplied CAD files, marked-up PDFs, sketches and other reference material. We review your project location, available information and required drawings to determine whether remote drafting is appropriate.
If dimensions, design instructions or site conditions need clarification, we’ll identify the additional information needed before production begins.
CAD DRAFTING FAQ
Questions about CAD drafting
Can you work from sketches, PDFs or paper drawings?
Yes. We can prepare CAD drawings from hand sketches, marked-up PDFs, scanned plans and paper drawings. We review the source material for legibility, dimensions and available reference information, then identify what can be reproduced and where clarification is needed.
Can you revise an existing DWG file from redlines?
Yes. We can update existing CAD drawings using marked-up PDFs, redlines and revised project information. Send the drawing files, relevant reference files and a clear set of requested changes. We’ll review file compatibility and confirm the revision scope before work begins.
What drawing files can I receive?
Your project can include PDF drawing sets and editable AutoCAD DWG files. If you need DXF, Revit files or a particular software version, include those requirements when requesting a quote. Delivery formats, versions and included files are confirmed as part of the project scope.
Do you provide Revit drafting or documentation?
Revit work is assessed as part of the project review. Share your existing files, software version and the documentation or model updates you need. We’ll confirm whether the requested work can be supported and which Revit deliverables are included in the scope.
Can you follow our drawing standards and support recurring work?
Share your drawing templates, layer conventions, sample sheets and file requirements during the initial review. We’ll assess compatibility and agree on the standards to use for your project.
We support individual assignments and recurring drafting needs, with deliverables, review arrangements and scheduling established for each assignment.
What if my drawings are incomplete or outdated?
We’ll review the available drawings and identify missing dimensions, unclear information or areas that need confirmation. Depending on the project, additional measurements, consultant information or updated field documentation may be needed.
Redrafting an older plan does not verify current building conditions. Our As-Built Drawings and 3D Laser Scanning services may help provide the existing-condition information needed for the work.
How do you work with architects and engineers?
We prepare and revise drawings using designs, details, markups and other information supplied by your project team. The drafting scope, review process and responsibilities are established before production begins.
When licensed engineering is required, clients contract directly with the appropriate engineers. Their designs and supporting information can then be incorporated into the agreed drafting work.
What information affects the quote and schedule?
The quote and schedule depend on the number and type of drawings, the quality and completeness of the source material, the extent of new drafting or revisions, and the required deliverables.
Send representative files, a description of the work and your requested deadline. Include any file-format requirements and whether you need help with one project or recurring assignments. We’ll review that information before confirming the scope and schedule.
